Flying online is better, but here you'll be on your own once there is no controller in charge for a certain frequency - and our experience is, that many frequencies are not supervised during a flight. There must be a better way The implemented Flight Planner is able to calculate a whole route simply by defining departure and destination airports while editing a calculated route is still possible. So if you prefer "The Big Ones", you are for sure surfing on the right site.

Twelve 12 checklists can be processed in teamwork with your virtual copilot. Standard instrument departure and arrival procedures are supported. Lower and upper airways are also taken into account.

During the whole flight you'll be supported by your virtual copilot. Depending on the options you have set, the copilot is able to setup the autopilot, gear, flaps, speed brakes, lights as well as the nav-radio and the com-radio. With all copilot options enabled, there isn't much left for you to do - ideal for beginners!

On the other hand, you can setup the options in a more realistic manner so that both the pilot and copilot share the workload or should you want to, delegate all cockpit tasks to the pilot!

Not really a good idea. The result is a highly realistic pronunciation. You can find further information under the 'Sound tab of our web page' if you are interested in recording an additional voice set. Additionally, authentic sound files can be played as background ATC which are frequency and coordinate dependent. That means you'll hear ATC originating from the country you are flying over, the radar sector you are in or even the airport you are taking-off from or landing at.

Many sound files have been implemented and numerous additional recordings are available on different web sites for free. You can make use of the wizard we have integrated to configure and enhance the sophistication of background ATC. That means you won't get a clearance for takeoff when an aircraft is on final approach or still on the runway.

Join Date Dec Posts My verdict after trying every ATC add-on In general I found this to be the most polished program, with the smoothest built-in flight-planning and FSX interfacing, and the most intuitive user interface. Aside from one or two problems with being forgotten by controllers, and a few poorly vectored approaches, Pro-ATC provided a very smooth flight. The copilot can be set to handle a variety of tasks, including flying via autopilot.

This means that newer pilots could setup the copilot to handle frequencies, communications, AND autopilot navigation, allowing the user to focus only on the manual portions of the flight while still enjoying a professional experience all around.

On the flipside, while the recorded voices sounded less mechanical than other options, the total number of voice sets is somewhat limited. In other words, you will hear the same few pilot and controller voices over and over. In addition to the limited voice sets, Pro-ATC appears to have no means of supporting user voice control, which is a feature I tend to enjoy. Flight plans must be created by importing a plan from either FSX or an outside flight-planning program, and then adjusted AND converted for use by ProFlight.

This process can sometimes alter the original flightplan, meaning further steps are often necessary to get everything smoothed out between PFE and FSX. All these steps also create room for lots of glitches, which I ran into frequently. I am still waiting to hear back on an issue that I eventually went and figured out myself. All the logistical shenanigans aside, however, and the actual program is excellent. First, the voices offered by PFE are the best. With the original program plus the additionally-purchasable voice expansion set, you will find an incredible diversity of accents to bring your flights to life.

You can easily assign different accents to different regions, meaning you will hear French voices in France, British voices in England, etc.Changer la langue.

On the plus side the in sim display is clear and comprehensive and the virtual co-pilot support it good. It seems targetted at larger planes and the sort of flights they do rather than general aviation which is what I prefer.

It does provide for flight planning so there is no need for a separate flight planner. I did not find their support forum responsive. PFE looked very interesting in terms of what it could deliver but to be honest I could not get ot to work reliably in Sim. The key commands did not work reliably. The developer was very helpful. It requires that you input flight plans created by an external flight planning tool or FSX itself and the process is a bit contorted.

I think it would work well for commercial and general aviation flights, It is also has an awful lot of options that I found a bit daunting I used an early version of Radar Contact some years ago. Again it requires that you create a flight plan with a separate flight planner and load it into RC when you fly. It handles commercial and general aviation situations.Like something similar to the built in fsx ATC, but more realistic and improved? Jerad Burns. There is two actually but both have robot voice.

There is radar contact i think that is what is called, an there is VoxATC. Not to much realistic in voice since its sound like a robot every time you talk to it. CPU I7 K 5. PFE replaces the default ATC and includes many voice sets with different English accents, taxi guidance system both verbal and visual and many other improvements.

FDC acts as a copilot, performing checklists ext. You can buy them individualy or together. They have been tweaked to work together. Uses the default voices in FSX but completely changes the phraseology per FAA or ICAO procedures, and you can speed up the speech by several increments spoken faster but the pitch doesn't change from the lethargically slow default rate.

You even hear all the "g'days, goodbyes, thanks, etc. The result is that you hear significantly more realistic chatter between aircraft and controllers in the sim. Also includes countless additional callsigns and nomenclatures, so when you install new AI aircraft you'll hear the controllers call them what they actually are. You can install even more custom callsigns that often come with add-on AI packages.

EditVoicepack doesn't provide new voices. It just edits the existing MS recordings to make them faster, and speak new words airline names that weren't recorded for example all using the same voices. It's worth a shot, if only to accelerate the controllers speech. At busy airports, it can be a real challenge to get your message through. Donate to our annual general fundraising goal. Posted May 12, Go To Topic Listing. Flight Simulation's Premier Resource! Show More. With so much to consider as you go through the day, it can be hard work just trying to put everything into place whilst ensuring that you are going to get some kind of long-term benefit. This can start to affect your ability to fly with confidence, making it harder to get through the most difficult parts of the flight process.

This is why so many people tend to turn to some of the extra features that are provided in FSX these days — things such as Air Traffic Control can be the extra tool needed to make sure that you can get a bit more success when flying through your aircraft. Whether you are new to the series or you just a relatively poor pilot at the moment, navigation can be a nightmare at first and leave you with more stressful times than completed flights; thankfully, with the help of an ATC education, you can cut this problem out once and for all.

It really is a vital part of flying, making sure that you have all the help that you need in mastering the art itself. It can be hard work at first, like anything else, but a few months of hardship and learning will be just what is needed! By providing you with all the details about what course to take, what altitude to fly at and indeed even talking you through the process from start to finish, ATC can be the perfect ally for anyone who is struggling to get their head around being a virtual pilot.

Basically, using the ATC all comes down to if you set up a specific flight plan before you take off. This will help you find all the details needed to take off and land flights like a pro for many years to come. To get started, all you need to do is go into your flight planner and start creating your destination and your starting point. This will be really easy to set up and should only take a few minutes of planning.

Now, you will be directed into the game once you activate everything in the planer. ATC, then, will come alive and start giving you all the commands and information that you need to make sure the flight takes off in the right manner. Here you are expected to follow the flight plan to the very letter and do absolutely everything that ATC is asking of you. Accuracy is a massive part of using the ATC; it makes it nigh-on impossible to take yourself off of the road and put yourself in trouble later on down the line.

Flying using the ATC can be hard work, and you need to be able to manage the entire process from start to finish. Once you get started, ATC will get in touch to tell you if you should be flying at a certain altitude, and will take out all of the calculation and hard work for you.

Everything will be easily managed for you via ATC, taking away a lot of the troubles that you might be facing at the moment with your aircraft, and ensuring that you have all the help that you need. For example, in a simulator, you will typically be spending your time dealing with the kind of features that the simulator is actually capable of providing. Obviously, a real-life aircraft is far more diverse in terms of how they fly so this can make your life a bit tougher, too.

Now, whether or not you are a real pilot, you will need to take the time to learn about what features are taken on by FSX and what features are left behind to make the actual performance of the aircraft possible. This means spending a lot of time going back and forth, trying out various solutions and trying to find something that would genuinely match what you were trying to go for in terms of authenticity.

You might just get the basics from some airports; others will be giving you full ATC manual all over again even if you've flown from that airport countless times! The main difference that a real pilot would need to get used to, though, is the repetition. If you are used to hearing many different responses from the experts in your tower in the real world, hearing the same responses over and over again might throw you a little bit.

Take your time to start looking around and see what you can discover with the help of FSX, and you can start to improve your overall competence both when it comes to flying aircraft and when it comes to managing it using the ATC experts!

This means making up a fair amount of planning in the long-term, ensuring that you have something well worth remembering since you will have to get used to hearing the same messages over and over again! Another big difference between the real thing and simulated ATC is the fact that your colleagues will be calling everything almost identically as to how they should.

Whereas in the real world you can have mispronunciation and even misinformation playing a part in your flight, when you start using FSX ATC you will be getting everything exactly the way that you should have been. These changes just about everything and will make sure you can start to master the ATC side of things in the simulator easier than you could have in the real world. The Fly Away Simulation download section for Microsoft Flight Simulator X is an unrivaled selection of freeware flight simulator add-ons, available for download now.
