I tried using both refresh rates, and they don't make a difference. The problem occurs in all power plans and even in the non-Lenovo energy manger modes. All drivers and BIOS are up to date. I'm at a complete loss as to why this is happening I would greatly appreciate a solution.

I sincerely hope I don't have a defective laptop. Anyone have any insight into this? I'm at a complete loss. I do notice this at low brightness settings as well, there is not a pattern to the flickering but it does happen. I don't recall it being a issue before the bios update, so hopefully it will be addressed in a future update. Very noticable in a darker room. I too have the adaptive brightness settings off, as well as other power settings. I have nothing under volted in extreme tuning, but may ramp up the turbo boost a bit to see if it makes a difference.

It's to do with the wire connected from the mother board to the screen. The wire doesn't have much slack when opening and shutting the laptop lid. That's what makes it flicker. I decided to swap my laptop to the X1 Carbon. So much better. I would say Lenovo needs to do a recall on these laptop's. I've heard a number of customers with the exact same problem. When you say "swap," did you find some way to return it to Lenovo, or you should ate the cost?

I didn't return it to lenovo. I returned it to the store. And they sent it to the warranty team. However the store I brought it from were very understanding and allowed me to exchange and pay the difference for the x1 carbon.

Nothing has worked. I just got it all set up the way I want it and now I don't know what to do. I was hoping I would find an easy fix on here, but it doesn't look like it so far. At this point, when it starts flickering it is unusable. Not sure if I should take it back to Best Buy or contact Lenovo directly.

Does the flicker happen if you just go directly into the Bios screens, without loading Windows? If so, it's the computer. If it only happens after Windows loads, then it's probably a driver issue.
